The 150th Anniversary for the San Francisco Port Authority consisted of planning, organizing and executing a variety of tasks in support of their Gala Celebration for 500. The overarching goals of the Anniversary’s activities were to 1) Acknowledge this important milestone, 2) Raise awareness of the Port’s past, present and future contributions to SF, 3) Build relationships among Port partners, tenants and City officials and 4) Generate interest and support in future development at the Port of San Francisco.
In celebration of the 150th Anniversary, the Port of San Francisco hosted an invitation-only Gala Reception at the iconic SF Ferry Building and a public Maritime Day festival along the Waterfront. The Port promoted the Anniversary’s milestone by launching a corporate sponsorship program that included the San Francisco Giants, Wells Fargo, Pier 39, Autodesk, Bauer’s Transportation, Princess Cruises, Hornblower Cruises and Events, AE Comand others.
In addition to events taking place throughout the year, the Port promoted the Anniversary’s milestone by launching a corporate sponsorship program to generate revenue for Gala Reception and Maritime Day, along with an Anniversary website, a social media and traditional media campaign (CBS television) and a line of retail items for sale and promotion.
